On October 28-29, 2021, the third seminar within the project "Training in low-temperature district heating for the Baltic Sea region" (LOWTEMP2.0) was held in Petrozavodsk. The topic of this seminar was "Modern technologies and equipment for heat supply".
The seminar was held both in person and online, for participants who, according to the current rules, could not attend in person, including students of the Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering and Heat Engineering of PetrSU.
In total, there were 15 students from PetrSU, students of the Petrozavodsk Technical School of Urban Economy, as well as teachers of both educational institutions in the audience.
Experts covered the following topics:
- Climate protection policy and goals (EU and Russia)
- District heating systems today and tomorrow
- Underfloor heating, the practice of applying the calculation method
- Heat pumps, calculation methods and examples
- Pipe heating systems
- Schemes for connecting buildings to the central office, etc.
- Solar thermal systems, calculation methods and examples
- The practice of using alternative energy sources in the Republic of Karelia
On the second day, the lectures were conducted by practical experts who included their long experience of working on the topics of the reports in their presentations.
