A big event took place! The press tour to Vodlozersky national park brought together 11 representatives of the leading mass media of Karelia! It all started on September 8 with a press conference at the Park's visitor center in Petrozavodsk on Parkovaya street. The conference was attended by project partners from the Russian and the Finnish side (online). All participants were able to see what significant results the KA5043 GreenSol project has achieved in the territories of protected areas in Karelia and Finland.
Then a friendly team of journalists and project participants left for the village of Kuganavolok (Pudozhsky district). The journey took about 7 hours, and was quite difficult, but with the invaluable support of NP Vodlozersky, guests were greeted with a wonderful dinner and a comfortable lodging for the night. The next day began with a detailed story and demonstration by the Park staff of the results achieved over the past 2 years and a plan for further development of the Park infrastructure on the territory of the Central estate in the village. At 10 am, a group of guests and hosts on two boats "Orlan" and "Peregrine Falcon" (8 people each) went out on a very calm lake (we were lucky with the weather!) the island Velikostrov where all saw firsthand how a solar power plant works, providing electricity to residential premises. It should be noted that it is on this island that summer children's camps are usually held (up to 1.5 months) and therefore comfort and safety are especially important here. Then on the same transport we went for cordon Ohtama. There, also at the expense of the GreenSol project, a solar power plant was installed to permanently power a Wi-Fi router and a security camera (a Wi-Fi-controlled forest fire surveillance camera).
We hope that the invited journalists enjoyed this trip and will be able to Express their feelings and thoughts in their reports. By the way, one of the news reports has already passed in the news of GTRK Karelia – thank you guys for your work! See the story below:
